Lyrics
Verse 1
You park your old Ford by the feed store signDust on the tires, sun dropping lowI had a whole speech ready in my mindThen you smiled and I forgot where to go
Pre‑Chorus
You asked if I was headed homeI said, “Not if you’re still around”Funny how a quiet county roadCan turn a lost boy’s world around
Chorus
I’ve got a crush on you, and everybody knowsBy the way I lose my place whenever you get closeYou’re the kind of pretty that a tired heart trustsI don’t need a grand plan, I just need one chanceTo tell you what this is, if you’ll let me call it loveFor now, I’ve got a crush on you
Verse 2
You work Saturdays at the hardware storeWear your hair tied back with a blue bandanaI buy the same two things, then I buy two moreJust to keep you laughing at my bad manners
Pre‑Chorus
Your name is written on my handBeside a number I won’t callI’m brave enough to make a standBut not enough to risk it all
Chorus
I’ve got a crush on you, and everybody knowsBy the way I lose my place whenever you get closeYou’re the kind of pretty that a tired heart trustsI don’t need a grand plan, I just need one chanceTo tell you what this is, if you’ll let me call it loveFor now, I’ve got a crush on you
Bridge
Maybe Friday, after closing timeI’ll meet you underneath the water towerBring two coffees and a little nerveAnd stay there till the stars run out of hours
Final Chorus
I’ve got a crush on you, now the whole town knowsI’m saying it out loud with the radio lowYou’re the kind of pretty that a tired heart trustsI don’t need a grand plan, I just need one chanceTo tell you what this is, and hope it’s more than a crushYeah, I’ve got a crush on you
Outro
I’ve got a crush on youHope you’ve got one on me too
