Lyrics
Verse
We climbed that loft like we used to dareHay in your hair and the summer airYou said forever like it wasn’t a lineI believed you in the nickel moonlight
Chorus
Moon over the hay barn, you in my armsCountry kind of heaven, no need for charmsMoon over the hay barn, holding onMoon over the hay barn all night longcrowd singing along
Verse
Owl in the rafters, a truck far offYou laughed so soft I forgot to coughIf love’s a season this one’s the oneI’d stay till the last bale’s gone
Chorus
Moon over the hay barn, you in my armsCountry kind of heaven, no need for charmsMoon over the hay barn, holding onMoon over the hay barn all night longcrowd singing along
Verse
We got older, the loft got lowStill we sneak up when the kids don’t knowSame old moon on a newer roofSame old promise, same old proof
Chorus
Moon over the hay barn, you in my armsCountry kind of heaven, no need for charmsMoon over the hay barn, holding onMoon over the hay barn all night longcrowd singing along
Outro
Still up thereMoon over the hay barncrowd singing along
