Lyrics
Verse 1
Neon hums on a Friday nightYour name still burns on the jukebox lightI swore I’d leave this glass aloneBut lonely tastes like homemade smoke [Verse 2]You left your sweater on my chairI wear it like it still don’t careEvery sip just brings you nearThen takes you farther than I can bear It’s whiskey and love, and they’re both too strongOne keeps me warm, one keeps me goneI raise this glass to what we hadAnd drown the good in all the badIf heaven’s closed and hell won’t waitI’ll meet you at the bottom of this drink [Verse 3]Barstool preacher, midnight choirSame old song, same old fireI talk to ice like it can hearAbout the girl who used to sit right here It’s whiskey and love, and they’re both too strongOne keeps me warm, one keeps me goneI raise this glass to what we hadAnd drown the good in all the badIf heaven’s closed and hell won’t waitI’ll meet you at the bottom of this drink I ain’t proud of how I hold onAin’t proud of mornings I don’t wantBut if this bottle’s all that’s left of youI’ll drink it slow and see it through [Final Chorus]It’s whiskey and love, and they’re both too strongOne keeps me warm, one keeps me goneI raise this glass to what we hadAnd drown the good in all the badIf heaven’s closed and hell won’t waitI’ll meet you at the bottom of this drinkYeah, I’ll meet you at the bottom of this drink
