Lyrics
Verse 1
Pulled up late in a FordSaw that tiger sign grinTanuki Thunder on the doorAnd I knew I had to go inPool balls clackin' on the feltBoots beat time by the barThe jukebox started talkin' backWe were gone before we got far
Pre‑Chorus
Bartender winked at meSaid, "You here to behave?"I tipped my hat and laughedI came to misbehave
Chorus
Tanuki Thunder, roll that thunderRaise a glass and let it runTanuki Thunder, roll that thunderWe stay loud till the night is doneTanuki Thunder (hey)Tanuki Thunder (hey)
Verse 2
Two-step queen in red bootsTold me, "Boy, keep up"She spun me past the barstoolsAnd filled my paper cupSomewhere in the back roomA choir of laughs broke looseI took my shot, she took my handWe made the whole place choose
Pre‑Chorus
Bartender slid one moreSaid, "You folks are a sight"I said, "Save me that last callI'm just gettin' warmed up tonight"
Chorus
Tanuki Thunder, roll that thunderRaise a glass and let it runTanuki Thunder, roll that thunderWe stay loud till the night is doneTanuki Thunder (hey)Tanuki Thunder (hey)
Bridge
If the road gets long againI know where I'll be foundUnder that tiger signWith my favorites all around
Final Chorus
Tanuki Thunder, roll that thunderRaise a glass and let it runTanuki Thunder, roll that thunderWe stay loud till the night is doneTanuki Thunder (hey)Tanuki Thunder (hey)Tanuki Thunder
